Some say if you are not motivated for something you don't want it bad enough. This can be true in some cases, if you want something you are obviously motivated to get it, however motivation is not as simple as that. What about when you need to have motivation for something you don't necessarily want to do? There are many skills and exercises to keep you motivated for completing tasks that you may not necessarily want to do- like writing an essay or completing a project. There are reasons we are or are not motivated for something. For example, it can seem nearly impossible to stay motivated for something that just seems to go on and on. For this problem, you need to visualize your workload as a whole, so it will seem easier and more achievable. You can also create mini challenges or tasks to complete for yourself to keep yourself interested in what you are working on. You should also prioritise your tasks from most important to least important. Motivation is different for everyone so you have to test out these solutions before you will know what is right for you.
